Greene County CTC to recognize students
Greene County Career and Technology Center will hold its recognition ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Waynesburg Central High School.
The class of 2016 includes 99 students, and the mistress of ceremonies for the evening is Makayla Harvilla, a Jefferson-Morgan health assistant student and a daughter of Kim Harvilla-Day and Roger Harvilla.
She is president of Health Occupations Students of America and vice president of the National Technical Honor Society.
She is a member of SkillsUSA and Torch and Laurel and is a Santa’s helper.
Harvilla has been accepted to Carlow University and plans to major in biology.
The student speaker is Baylee Wydo, a Carmichaels Area cosmetology student and a daughter of Brandi and Ed Streit and Chuck LaVerde.
Wydo currently works at Carmichaels Golf Club and the Hungarian Smokehouse and is the treasurer of SkillsUSA and her cosmetology program.
She was a Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club girl of the month in October and a varsity cheerleader and is a Tricia Ricco dancer. Wydo is a bell ringer for the Salvation Army, has participated in Relay for Life, is a CTC Ambassador and a volunteer at Golden LivingCenter.
She has been accepted to the Tom Savini Special Effects Make-up program at Douglas Education Center.
The public is invited to attend the event.
