Monessen man jailed on heroin charges
MONESSEN – A Monessen man wanted on charges he sold heroin in his hometown to a confidential informant was apprehended Thursday at a Donora residence where investigators said they seized three bricks of the drug from the suspect.
Alan L. “White Boy” Roberts Jr., 22, of 128 McKee Ave., was sent that day to Westmoreland County jail on $75,000 bond, and he was scheduled to be arraigned today before District Judge Mark Wilson on charges filed against him by Washington County Drug Task Force, court records show.
Monessen police, while working with the federal Drug Enforcement Agency and state attorney general’s office, served a search warrant on Roberts’ residence about 10 a.m. Thursday. He was not there at the time, court records show.
The investigators then went to 871-A McKean Ave. in Donora, where Roberts was known to sometimes reside, and he was found in a bedroom of that residence.
Police said a bundle of heroin was found in a pocket of the clothing Roberts was wearing, along with $156. Three additional bricks of heroin, which amounted to 150 stamp bags of the drug, were seized from a couch in the residence, a detective with the task force noted in the affidavit supporting some of the criminal charges in the cases.
Investigators seized a .380-caliber handgun and ammunition from Roberts’ residence in Monessen, items he was prohibited from having as a convicted felon. They said they also found heroin brick wrappers in his bedroom that were identical to those seized in Donora.
In the Monessen cases, Roberts was accused of selling the informant heroin in controlled buys May 2 and May 10, the court record indicates.
He was charged with four counts of possession with intent to deliver, three counts each of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts each of illegal possession of firearms, drug delivery and criminal use of a cellphone.
