Theft: A pharmacist at the Giant Eagle, 100 Sugar Run Road, Morrisville, is facing misdemeanor charges for allegedly stealing hydrocodone and ranitidine tablets from the store’s pharmacy. Douglas Farquharson, Jr., 62, of 453 Burnsville Ridge Road, Claysville, was charged Friday by the state Attorney General’s office with theft and prohibited acts for possessing a controlled substance, for allegedly stealing $27.98 worth of drugs between January and March, according to court documents. Farquharson told Giant Eagle’s internal investigator that he was “self-medicating for ear pain and stomach problems,” court documents indicate.
