150 students compete in reading
Students from five school districts competed in the Greene County Reading Competition held Tuesday at Waynesburg University.
Twenty-seven teams registered for the event, with more than 150 students participating. Both Eva K. Bowlby Library and Flenniken Public Library brought teams as well.
The first place elementary winners were a team from the Flenniken Public Library, followed by Carmichaels students in second and Waynesburg Central in third.
Middle school winners were a group from Margaret Bell Miller Middle School in first, Jefferson-Morgan in second, and West Greene in third. At the high school level, Waynesburg Central took home first place, followed by Jefferson-Morgan in second, and a group from Bowlby Library in third.
