DONORA – A Donora man is wanted on charges he broke a 2-year-old boy’s arm and bruised his face while the child had a temper tantrum two weeks ago.

District Judge Mark Wilson on Monday issued a warrant for the arrest of Bruce A. Pantojas, 23, of 1079 Marelda Ave., in the case on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and endangering the welfare of children, court records show.

Police were brought into the case May 3 by Washington County Children and Youth Services after the child’s mother, Roxanne Clegg, and her boyfriend, Pantojas, took the boy to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, the affidavit indicates.

A follow-up report dated May 12 from the hospital indicated the couple insisted the child’s injuries were the result of a fall of 24 inches from a couch, the record shows. Police noted in the report Clegg did not think her boyfriend caused the injuries.

Pantojas, when interviewed by police, said he didn’t believe he grabbed the boy hard enough by the face to have caused the bruising and the boy hurt himself when he fell against a tub.

Pantojas also told police he thought the child dislocated his shoulder when he fell off the couch and he tugged on the boy’s arm to put it back in place, the court records shows.

Police claim Pantojas then admitted to pulling on the boy’s arm during the tantrum.

It was not immediately known who has custody of the boy.
