Police beat May 19
Theft arrest: Roger Staley, 60, of Claysville, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of theft by deception and forgery. He is accused of trying to deposit three counterfeit checks last week at Chrome Federal Credit Union, 45 Griffith St., Canton, state police said. He was released on his own recognizance.
Harassment, stalking charges: Mackenzie N. Paulhamus, 36, of 135 Timberline Drive, North Franklin Township, was charged last week by state police with harassment and stalking after she allegedly sent text messages and called a man at his home on Cortez Drive, Canton, on several occasions between November and May. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Windows shot: Two Chartiers residents reported to township police windows were shot out of their respective vehicles. George Crawford of 82 Plum Run Road reported it Tuesday, while Carl Andree of 567 Arden Road made a report Sunday.
Horse trailer stolen: Carlee Doran of Washington told Chartiers police Friday her white, 2006 American Spirit horse trailer was stolen from Washington County Fairgrounds. Inside the trailer were a saddle, saddle pad, boots, helmet and other items valued at about $2,000.
Vehicle scratched: Miguel Mitchell of Washington told Chartiers police Monday his vehicle was scratched while parked Saturday at Black & Gold bar, West Pike Street.
Tickets stolen: A pack of scratch-off lottery tickets was reported stolen Monday from Jim’s Stop and Shop, 4554 Prosperity Pike, Morris, state police said.
Altered plate: Collin J. Billy, 28, of McKees Rocks, was charged by North Strabane police with having altered or forged documents and not having insurance or registration stemming from a traffic stop Monday in the 1400 block of Route 519. He allegedly admitted to police he took the registration sticker off his wife’s vehicle and put it on his. The charges will be sent by sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Harassment charges: Kathryn M. Camps-Paulson, 58, of Follansbee, W.Va., was charged last week with harassment by North Strabane police after she allegedly sent text messages on several occasions to the director of Consulate Health Care, Tandem Village Drive, after being told to stop last month. Police said she was fired from the center. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Theft, receiving charges: Jennifer Chou, 69, of Pittsburgh, was charged this week by state police at The Meadows Casino with theft of mislaid property and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing a cellphone another woman dropped on the floor near the slot machines. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Illegal winnings charge: Ryan Transue, 38, of 701 Frederick Court, Canonsburg, was charged this week by state police at The Meadows Casino with fraudulently winning or reducing loss after he allegedly past-posted a bet on a blackjack table May 3. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
False ID charge: Marcus A. Hughes, 33, of 1239 McMahon Ave., Monessen, was charged Wednesday by Rostraver police with false identification to police after he allegedly gave police a false name during a traffic stop early Sunday on Ross Street in Pricedale. Police said he is wanted on warrants in Washington County. The charge was filed at the office of District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
Contractor charged: Charles Thomas Whatton, 32, of 729 Fellsburg Road, Belle Vernon, was charged Wednesday by Rostraver police with theft by deception and failure to perform home improvement services. Police said he accepted and cashed a $1,500 check to start work at a home on Morningside Road but never did the work. The charges were filed at the office of District Judge Charles Christner.
Theft, trespass charges: Larry Early Jericho, 36, of 79 Marion Villa, Belle Vernon, was charged Wednesday by Rostraver police with retail theft and criminal trespass stemming from a May 7 incident at Walmart, Sara Way. The charges were filed at the office of District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
Theft charge: Jayme Cox, 28, of 1255 Allison Ave., Washington, was charged by South Strabane police with theft after he allegedly stole $320 from the register while working at Waffle House, 255 Murtland Ave., Feb. 13. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
