Toy gun brought to Burgettstown school
Burgettstown Area School District officials confiscated a toy gun Tuesday from a 10-year-old student who brought it to the district elementary school to show to friends.
Superintendent James Walsh said the incident occurred before school started when the fourth-grader showed the toy to friends.
“I don’t think there was any nefarious intent,” Walsh said.
The school police officer and other district officials learned about the incident when one of the student’s friends reported him to an adult, Walsh said. He said the child faces discipline.
