PITTSBURGH – A 39-year-old Donora man arrested in March for robbing a bank in Carmichaels was indicted for an additional robbery and attempted robbery in 2015 and 2016.
Aaron Huey of 517 Ohio St. was indicted by a federal grand jury Tuesday for the unarmed robbery of Frick Tri-County Federal Credit Union in Uniontown in December, the armed robbery of PNC Bank in Charleroi in March and the attempted robbery of PNC Bank in Speers in March, according to U.S. Attorney David Hickton. Huey faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 for the unarmed and attempted robberies and 25 years and $250,000 in fines for the armed robbery.
Huey tried to rob a PNC Bank branch at 141 Pennsylvania Ave. in Speers on March 18, Donora police said, but found the bank closed. He held up the PNC branch in Carmichaels at gunpoint March 16, each time wearing either a surgical mask or bandana and surgical gloves. Each time he fled in in a white, newer-model Chevrolet Malibu.
