State police will be conducting a free child restraint checkup event from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Washington Auto Mall, Route 19 at Strabane Square in South Strabane Township. Parents wanting to have their child restraint checked for recalls and to learn how to properly secure child seats are encouraged to participate. Certified child restraint technicians from the state police will be available to assist.

State police also will be participating in the Click It or Ticket campaign from Monday through June 5. Enforcement efforts include additional troopers patrolling the highways, aggressively enforcing occupant restraint and child safety seat violations. Troopers will also be aggressively enforcing crash-causing violations which include driving under the influence, speeding and aggressive and distracted driving.
