Carmichaels Area High School to graduate 86 seniors
Carmichaels Area High School will graduate 86 seniors during commencement ceremonies Friday, June 3, at 7:15 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.
Emma Lea Lowry is the valedictorian while Journie Lynn Crutchman is the salutatorian. Class President Jeffrey Robert Pratt will address the class and call roll.
Lowry, a daughter of Leanna Madich and C.J. Lowry, was the Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club girl of the month in April and is a member of the National Honor Society, Envirothon Team, Bots IQ, student newspaper, SADD, Chem Club, Quarterbacks for Life, Book Club, band, Senior Standing Committee and played volleyball and softball. She plans to attend Carlow University and study in nursing.
Crutchman, a daughter of Richard and Springhill Crutchman, was the Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club girl of the month in May, received one Gold Key and two Silver Keys for the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, finished in second and third place in the Women’s Civic Club Basket Full of Arts competition, was the 2015 Student Delegate at 2015 World Affairs Institute, served as vice president in the National Honor Society, copy/design editor for the yearbook, proofing editor for the student newspaper, was a member of the Book Club, Art Club, SADD, student council, Big Brothers & Big Sisters and played softball. She plans to attend Saint Vincent College to study early childhood education.
Pratt, a son of Jeff and Lori Pratt, received the 2015 Scholastic Gold Key Art Award and Silver and Gold Key Art awards in 2016. He is a member of Chem Club, Art Club, SADD, student council, Senior Standing Committee, National Honor Society, Ski Club and plays in marching and concert band. He plans to attend California University of Pennsylvania and study education.
