LOWER BURRELL (AP) – A coroner and police are trying to figure out how a 17-year-old Pennsylvania girl died in a car early on the day she was supposed to graduate from high school.

The Westmoreland County coroner says no signs of a “natural disease” were found during an autopsy of Laura Elizabeth Hoover. She was a senior at Burrell High School, about 25 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.

Her body was found in a car that came to rest against a tree in on neighbor’s property about 1 a.m. Thursday. There’s no sign she was injured when the vehicle apparently drifted off the road. Toxicology results from her autopsy won’t be available for weeks.

The Burrell School District honored the girl with an empty seat decorated with flowers at Thursday evening’s graduation.
