Bowlby preparing for annual ‘Keep Me Safe’ presentations
WAYNESBURG – Bowlby Public Library is announcing activities and events for the 7th annual “Keep Me Safe” series offered in June.
The programs are designed for families with children of all ages to participate in together.
The series will kick-off with the “Keep Me Safe from Fire” presentation, which funs from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Volunteers from Center Township Fire Company will give a fire safety demonstration and have “Sparky” the firedog entertaining the kids and sharing fire safety tips. Waynesburg-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department will also give a tour of their fire engine and allow kids to get their picture taken in the fire truck.
The “Keep Me Safe Healthy” presentation will be held June 11 from 10 a.m. to noon. The library will offer free American Red Cross CPR Certification and free FBI digital fingerprinting services for children. Also, a representative from the Washington Physicians Group/Family Practice in Greene County will be on site to share tips with families about staying healthy.
The series will ends with the “Keep Me Safe and Protected” presentation June 20 from 10 a.m. until noon. Sexual Trauma Treatment And Recovery Services staff will share information on personal safety and teen volunteers will present a skit entitled, “Stranger Danger with Little Red.”
