Fort Cherry High School commencement set
Fort Cherry High School will graduate 82 seniors at the commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. Friday at James Garry Stadium.
Madison Joan Rupnik is the valedictorian and Shelby Jacqueline Krenn is the salutatorian.
Rupnik is the daughter of Paul and Donna Rupnik of Midway.
She received highest honors and the Presidential Academic Award all four years of high school.
Rupnik was the president of the chorus, secretary of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and vice president of the prom committee. She was a member of Encore, STRIVE, Student Council and also participated in cheerleading, track and softball. She also participated in Blessings in a Backpack and was a Jameson’s Army volunteer at Heritage Library.
She is employed by Dick’s Sporting Goods. She will attend Gannon University to pursue a degree in physician’s assistant studies.
Krenn is the daughter of Tom and Tammy Krenn of McDonald.
She received highest honors, the Presidential Academic Award and the Academic Excellence award through the Challenge Program.
Krenn was president of the Drama Club, treasurer of the Bible Club, and vice president of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. She was also the volleyball team manager. She volunteered for “This Star Won’t Go Out.”
She will attend Penn State University to pursue a degree in risk management and actuarial science.
