UNIONTOWN (AP) — Authorities say a western Pennsylvania woman looking out a window was killed when she was apparently hit by a stray bullet.

The Herald-Standard reports that 32-year-old Jaqualine Carey of Uniontown was visiting her sister’s residence. Witnesses said a noise outside prompted Carey to look out the window at about 10 p.m. Friday, but as she lifted the window curtain, a shot hit her in the upper left chest area.

Uniontown police sent to the area after a report of gunshots found her leaned back against kitchen cabinets on the floor. She was pronounced dead at Uniontown hospital. About six other people in the home were uninjured.

Lt. Tom Kolencik said investigators don’t think Carey was specifically targeted. Two people were questioned but no arrests were immediately reported.
