Police beat Nov. 8
Break-in attempt: McDonald police said an attempt may have been made to enter a home on Whitaker Avenue in Burgettstown. Police said a neighbor who was watching a residence reported tampering to a door handle.
Drug charges: Justin David Key, 26, of Donora, and Jacklyn McBryar, 28, of Charleroi, will be charged by California police with possession of marijuana after they allegedly were found with the suspected drug Oct. 27 during a traffic stop at the intersection of Ash and Fifth streets.
Faces charges: Bernice Ann Stratton, 55, of 295 Hawthorne Ave., Canonsburg, faces charges including driving under the influence of alcohol and not having a license after she reportedly hit a parked vehicle owned by Lorelei Ann Moates of Coraopolis Saturday afternoon in a lot at 43 E. Pike St., Canonsburg police said. Moates, who was sitting in her vehicle, said Stratton almost hit it a second time. Police said Stratton had an open bottle of rum in her vehicle. She was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment. Police said blood also was drawn to determine her alcohol level.
Vehicle damaged: Amy Rugalsky of 222 Vine St. told Canonsburg police Saturday that her vehicle was damaged by vandals.
False reports charge: Charles Work of Washington will be charged with false reports after state police were called to a home at 11 Mark Ave. at 4 p.m. Sunday for a disturbance. Work falsely claimed he was assaulted by his roommate, police said.
Signs damaged: Raymond Bish of 153 Midway-Candor Road, Midway, told McDonald police Sunday that a vehicle drove through his front yard, damaging political signs.
Drug case: Michael Dean Billy, 52, of 127 Pennsylvania Ave., Monessen, is charged by city police with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession and criminal use of a communication facility, court records show. City police accuse him of attempting to receive six stamp bags of heroin from a Florida address Oct. 25 at the post office at 821 Donner Ave. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso signed a warrant Thursday for Billy’s arrest.
Charges filed: John Michael Risher, 36, and Megan Maria Watson, 25, both of 502 E. Crawford Ave., Connellsville, are charged by township police with endangering the welfare of children and reckless endangerment over allegations they overdosed on heroin while their two children where in their vehicle while it was parked about 1:10 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Exxon at 900 Rostraver Road, court records show. Risher also is charged with possessing two stamp bags of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charges in a summons Thursday.
Woman charged: Ashley Elizabeth Rice, 23, of 313 Johnson Ave., Rostraver Township, is charged by township police with four counts of theft over accusations she stole $235 through fraudulent returns last month at Rite Aid, 843 Rostraver Road, while she worked at the store, court records show. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charges in a summons Thursday.
Robbery attempt: A driver for Mm! Mm! Pizza on West Chestnut Street told Washington police that an attempt was made to rob him about 10:15 p.m. Saturday when he was trying to deliver a pizza to a house in the 700 block of Addison Street. He told police that he was using his flashlight to find a house number when a thin black man wearing a black and white beanie cap came up from behind him. He said he felt something brush past his head. When he turned, the would-be robber ran.
Windshield damaged: Kristin O’Donnell of Houston told Washington police that the windshield of her vehicle was damaged with a rock while the car was parked Sunday in the 300 block of Burton Avenue.
Woman threatened: Kristie Stetz of Washington told Washington police Friday that a man she knew only by a nickname threatened to shoot her and accused of her of being a snitch. The incident happened in the 800 block of Broad Street.
House burglarized: Tiffany Sloneker of 123 W. Walnut St. told Washington police Friday that an Xbox One game console, controllers and eight games were stolen in a burglary of her home.
Chain saws stolen: Ben Sosa of Somerset told Washington police Friday that three chain saws were stolen from his work truck while it was parked at 235 W. Chestnut St.
