Police beat Nov. 11
Card allegations: State police from Troop B said four fraudulent charges were made on a debit card bearing the name of an Amity woman. The charges, they said, occurred throughout Oct. 31 at a U.S. Bank automated teller machine in Los Angeles.
Attempted burglary: A resident of Main Street told Southwest Regional police that the door to her home was damaged Saturday when an attempt was made to enter the residence.
Kerosene theft: Mike Jurcevich of Wood Street told Southwest Regional police Saturday that 250 gallons of kerosene was stolen from a tank outside his mother-in-law’s home.
Suspected injury: A Claysville teenager was taken to Washington Hospital with a suspected minor injury following a three-vehicle accident around 3:30 p.m. Oct. 31. Julia A. Wise, 17, taken to a hospital following the crash on Route 40 west of Spur Road. Troop B state police said a vehicle driven by Tyler L. Scott, 17, of Claysville, was stopped in the westbound lane for a vehicle making a left turn. Police said Wise’s vehicle stopped behind it, and was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Dylan Pettit, 17, also of Claysville, causing a chain-reaction crash.
Theft alleged: Robert Scott McCartney Jr. is accused of taking more than $1,000 from a cash register during his work shift at Circle K, 860 Henderson Ave., between 3 and 8 p.m. Oct. 27. Troop B state police, who did not list an age or address for McCartney but said he is a former employee, filed charges with the office of Magisterial District Justice David Mark.
Drug arrest: William Albert Richards, 29, of 723 Washington Ave., Charleroi, was charged Thursday with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records indicate. Police accused him of having two bricks of heroin when officers went to his residence to apprehend him in a receiving stolen property case. Richards is in Washington County jail on $150,000 bond set Thursday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Drug case: Michael Dean Billy, 52, of 127 Pennsylvania Ave., Monessen, is charged by city police with possessing stamp bags of heroin and possessing drug paraphernalia when officers went to his residence about 8 p.m. Wednesday to arrest him in a previous drug case, court records show. Billy is in Westmoreland County jail on $35,000 bond set by District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
Man charged: Eric Zunic, 38, of 37 Sampson St., Belle Vernon, is charged by city police with giving a false identification to an officer who pulled over his vehicle about 7:15 p.m. Monday at Cross Reed Avenue and Sixth Street, court records show. A passenger, Amelia Marie Nevin, 25, of 2706 Douglas Run Road, Elizabeth, is charged with possessing two stamp bags of heroin and drug paraphernalia. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charges in summons Wednesday.
Woman charged: Dana Lynn Fox, 48, of 2242 Route 88, Dunlevy, is charged by borough police with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct over allegations she threw a glass at David Saxbert Jr., causing a cut to his forehead, about 9 p.m. Nov. 3 inside a bar in the 400 block of Broad Avenue, court records show. District Judge Charles Christner issued the case in a summons Tuesday.
Man charged: Wesley Tyler Grethen, 20, of 465 Highland Ave., North Charleroi, is charged by township police with false statements and providing false information to purchase a firearms about July 1 and Oct. 21 at The Gun Rack, 1189 Route 136, court records show. District Judge Charles Christner issued the charges last week via summons.
Theft case: Donna Lee Linko, 62, of 116 Grant St., Star Junction, is charged by township police with multiple counts of theft over allegations she stole $550 from a Walmart, 100 Sara Way, while she worked at the store between July 31 and Oct. 29, court records show. District Judge Charles Christner issued the charges in a summons Thursday.
Accidental fire: A fire around 3:30 p.m. Monday on Preston Road damaged a home and car owned by Judith Curtis, state police reported. There were no injuries and the fire was ruled accidental.
Violation alleged: State police have accused Marie Portozoti of violating the drug act following an alleged incident around noon Oct. 16 at the Beau Street exit off Interstate 70 east. Police did not provide an age or hometown for her.
