Charges pending: Ryan J. Fears, 27, and Shannon C. Nelson, 30, both of Rogersville, will be charged with theft for allegedly stealing money and a cellphone from a wallet that had been left in a shopping cart in the Walmart parking lot Oct. 26, state police said. Police said the couple stole the phone and cash and threw the wallet into the trash.

Theft charge: Richard Alan Riley, 25, of 237 Washington St., Jefferson, was charged by state police with theft for allegedly stealing items from a residence in the 100 block of Third Street in Jefferson Township. Police said Riley allegedly stole items valued at more than $4,000 from Craig Bessinger. Riley allegedly told police he had taken the items to his residence to “keep them safe.” Police said Riley never contacted Bessinger afterward to let him know where his belongings were.
