Cumberland Township man sentenced for sex acts with minor
WAYNESBURG – A Cumberland Township man, who pleaded guilty to corruption of a minor and indecent assault of a person under 16 years old in May, was sentenced Nov. 7 to 11 months to 47 months in Greene County Jail.
Cumberland Township police had arrested Jesse J. Jenkins, 23, of 611 Brownsferry Road, for engaging in sex acts with a 13-year-old girl at her Crucible home in October 2015. Police said Jenkins tried to have sex with the girl and later asked her to perform sex acts on him. Police said he supplied her with beer and marijuana before the encounter.
Police said the girl told investigators she was awakened by Jenkins while sleeping and the two of them went into a bathroom and tried to have sex, but later performed sex acts on each other. Jenkins told police the girl initiated the encounter, court documents indicate.
Jenkins was also sentenced for the charge of selling or furnishing liquor to a minor. As part of a plea agreement, additional charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and unlawful contact with a minor were dismissed.
Jenkins was not found to be a sexually violent predator, but will have to register as a sex offender for the next 25 years.
Greene County Judge Lou Dayich also ordered Jenkins to not have any contact with the victim, pay $1,500 in fines, and complete 100 hours of community service.
