Police beat Nov. 23
Two charged: Dominick Zachary Wilps, 19, of Yukon, was charged last week by California police with possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana, disorderly conduct and underage drinking stemming from a Nov. 6 traffic stop at First and Ash streets. Michael J. Zambo, 20, of Dunbar, who also was in the vehicle, was charged with underage drinking.
False reports charge: Charles T. Work, 49, of 11 Mark Ave., Canton, was charged Monday by state police with false reports after he allegedly told a trooper that he had been punched in the face by a man at his home. Police determined that claim to be false. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Woman charged: Kayla A. Usher, 26, of 218 Key Ave., Canton, was charged Thursday by state police with false reports and disorderly conduct. She reportedly told police Oct. 26 that her husband had struck her. She later recanted the story, police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Drug case: Kimberly Margaret Love, 31, of Pittsburgh, is charged with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia over allegations she had a small amount of crack during a traffic stop in the 300 block of Thompson Avenue about 8:15 p.m. Nov. 8, court records show. District Judge Mark Wilson issued the charges in a summons Monday.
Warrant issued: Rashawn Smith, 22, of 7 S. McKean Ave., Donora, is charged by borough police with theft over accusations he stole a video game device worth $499 and 20 baseball caps valued at $600 from his residence about midnight Oct. 31, court records show. District Judge Mark Wilson signed a warrant Monday for Smith’s arrest.
Drug charge: Katelynn Jean Eastham, 26, of 507 Jackson St., Monongahela, is charged by city police with delivery of heroin and tampering with evidence over allegations she injected the drug into a woman who then suffered an overdose at Eastham’s residence about 5:30 p.m. Nov. 16, court records show. Police, who also claim Eastham flushed the evidence down a toilet, filed the charges Monday before District Judge Mark Wilson.
Drug charges: Casey D. Cole, 24, of 195 Grove Ave., was charged Monday with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop in the 1200 block of West Chestnut Street Oct. 7. Cole, who is in Washington County jail for an unrelated incident, was allegedly in possession of eight stamp bags of suspected heroin. A preliminary hearing before District Judge Robert Redlinger is scheduled Dec. 5.
Assault, endangerment charges: Douglas Dennis Dickey, 64, of 180 Franklin Farms Road, North Franklin Township, was arrested Monday night by Washington police on charges of simple assault and two counts of reckless endangerment. He is accused of trying to break into a home in the 100 block of Gibson Avenue while armed with a gun. Police arrived and spotted him getting into a car and trying to leave. The resident of the house told police that Dickey arrived at her home, brandishing a gun and discharging it into the air while demanding ham and cat litter from her. Police said they found a BB gun under the seat of Dickey’s car. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County jail on $20,000 bond.
Items stolen: John Zawacki reported to Washington police Monday that several tools, including pressure washers, heaters, a table saw and a circular saw, were stolen from his basement storage area on North Main Street. Zawacki said he allowed a homeless man named “Andy” to stay in the storage area for a while, and he noticed the items were missing after the man left.
House burglarized: Kristopher Webster of Bruce Street reported to Washington police Monday someone pried open a rear door of his home between Friday and Monday. Among items reported stolen were a tablet, safe, $2,300, jewelry and a laptop computer.
Vehicle stolen: Michelle Chandler of Claysville reported to Washington police she left her green 2003 Jeep Liberty Sport unlocked and running while she went into Uni-Mart, 500 N. Main St., about 8:30 p.m. Monday. When she came out, the vehicle was gone.
