Amwell Township fire under investigation
An Amwell Township fire that broke out Tuesday night is under investigation by a state police fire marshal.
The single-family home at 632 Old Waynesburg Road caught fire around 9 p.m., said Amwell Assistant Fire Chief Norm Arthur.
The residents were able to evacuate safely. No injuries were reported.
Arthur said there was heavy smoke, and it could not immediately be determined where the fire originated.
Amwell was assisted by fire departments from Lone Pine, South Strabane and North Franklin. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames by 11 p.m.
Damage was extensive, and the home is uninhabitable, Arthur said.
