Police to release more info on pedestrian’s highway death

INDUSTRY, Pa. (AP) — State police planned to release additional information on the death of a pedestrian on a western Pennsylvania highway.

Troopers from the Beaver barracks say the death is suspicious, but declined to release additional information until Sunday morning’s news conference.

So far, Beaver County emergency officials have said only that a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle shortly after 2 a.m. on Route 68, which is known locally as Midland Beaver Road. The accident happened in Industry, a borough about 30 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

The highway remained closed for several hours while police investigated.

The victim’s name and circumstances of their death has not immediately been released.
