State trooper involved in accident
A state trooper sustained minor injuries after she was involved in a two-vehicle accident at Morganza and McClelland roads in North Strabane Township Tuesday evening.
Trooper Lauren Murphy, 26, was driving a marked Pennsylvania State Police car. She was traveling north on Morganza at 6:13 p.m. As she entered the intersection, a pickup truck turned left in front of her and struck the patrol car on driver side’s front quarter panel, state police reported.
Murphy was taken to Canonsburg Hospital with minor injuries to her back, shoulder and knee. She was released Tuesday night.
The operator of the pickup, David J. Ruminski, 27, of West Seneca, N.Y., sustained bruising but declined treatment, state police said. Raminski’s passenger, Thomas A. Fabiny, 57, of North Tonawanda, N.Y., was not injured.
Officers from Canonsburg and North Strabane responded to the scene with numerous volunteer firefighters and Canonsburg Hosptial Ambulance.
An investigation is ongoing.
