Water leak closes McMurray school
A water leak caused McMurray Elementary School to be closed Monday and Tuesday, including all after-school activities.
According to Peters Township School District, a leak on the third floor caused significant damage to classrooms on all three floors in the rear of the building. The maintenance and custodial staff worked early Monday to remove the water, and a professional disaster restoration service was on-site as of the afternoon.
Depending on the progress, the district also could cancel school Wednesday. District officials plan to evaluate the situation Tuesday and communicate a decision to families.
All other Peters Township schools will remain on their normal schedule.
