Monessen police conducting a surveillance operation Thursday at 122 Pennsylvania Ave. filed drug charges against four people caught in the drug sweep.

Anthony Mark “Chilt” McIntyre-Chilton, 49, of 440 Knox Ave., was reported to be staying at the Pennsylvania Avenue residence and orchestrating purchases of heroin, crack and cocaine, according to court documents.

Officers said they set up a perimeter to monitor suspected drug buys at the house and observed Brian Bashur, 30, of 911 Second St., drive up in a truck with Benjamin Griffey, 42, of 538 Rostraver St., as a passenger. Bashur remained in the vehicle as Griffey entered the house for about five minutes before exiting, police said. Officers followed the vehicle and stopped it, finding an undisclosed amount of heroin on Griffey and more stamp bags in Bashur’s vehicle. Both face a single count of drug possession by summons.

After arresting the two, officers returned to the residence hoping to find McIntyre-Chilton, knowing there was a warrant for his arrest on drug charges, police said. Police reported they received information that McIntyre-Chilton was tipped off to their presence and might attempt to flee. Officers entered the building as he was escaping through an adjoining duplex, arrested McIntyre-Chilton and obtained permission from the owner of the residence to search the place.

Officers recovered two plastic bags containing cocaine and crack. McIntyre-Chilton was arrested on two charges of distributing illegal drugs.

Police also arrested Jennifer A. Lynn, 41, of 440 Knox Ave., who was in the Pennsylvania Avenue residence at the time of the sweep and was arrested on a drug possession charge as officers found heroin in her purse.
