Carmichaels Activities Center, also known as Carmichaels Senior Center, on Nemacolin Road will host a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday featuring the country band Nashville Past. Admission is $8. The event benefits the center. For information, call 724-966-2290.
Greene County Veterans Affairs will hold veterans’ outreach programs at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Mt. Morris Senior Center and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 26 in Clarksville Senior Center. Veterans can make an appointment or stop by to learn about services, including pension, compensation, disability, health care, life insurance, funeral and burial claims and retroactive benefits, said Dalene Watson, office director. Waynesburg University Symphonic Band fall concert of “Movie Magic” will be held Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 5:15 p.m. in the Marsh Center in Roberts Chapel. This presentation will begin the Symphonic Band’s yearlong exploration of the vast world of movie themes. A variety of musical styles encompassing silent films, dramas, historical pieces, animated films and blockbuster soundtracks will be celebrated. No reservations are needed to attend the event.
Greene County chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Carmichaels Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491, 500 W. George St.
Morgan Township Society of Farm women will meet at noon Oct. 12 at Calvary Baptist Church in Morgan Township. Attendees should bring a lunch and a bathroom item for a basket.
