Cornerstone Genealogical Society of Greene County will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. today at the log cabin courthouse on Greene Street. This month’s topic will be given by Lynne Gough, author of Asa and the Holstein Queen. She will be discussing the stories behind the novel and how they coincide with the real-life adventures of four generations of her Greene County ancestors. The meeting is free, and the public is encouraged to attend.

Jefferson United Methodist Church will hold a roast pork dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Jefferson Community Center. The menu includes roast pork, mashed potatoes, gravy, sauerkraut, green beans, candy carrots, applesauce, rolls, desserts and a beverage. Cost is $12 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Takeout is available.

The John Corbly DAR will hold its meeting Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hartley Inn in Carmichaels.

Ralph K. Bell Bird Club will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, at Bowlby Public Library in Waynesburg. The program will be presented by Mary Grey from Wheeling, W.Va., on “Prairies and Potholes.” The meeting is open to anyone interested in birds.
