Buffalo Creek Watershed Association will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Buffalo Township building, 400 Buffalo Center Lane, near the Taylorstown Exit of Interstate 70. State Game Commission Officer Rich Joyce will discuss the importance of bat and Eastern bluebird populations.

Joyce will address the challenges bats are facing and how people can have an impact on reversing the bluebirds’ decline because of habitat loss.

A bat box will be on display, and there will be information about constructing a bluebird box. Participants will have a chance of going home with a bluebird nesting box kit.

There is no charge for the public to attend the presentation, but nonperishable donations to the Greater Washington County Food Bank will be collected. Those interested in attending should contact the association at buffalocreekwa@gmail.com or by calling 724-484-7537.
