Police beat Oct. 13
Violation charge: Cory A. Rose, 26, of 640 E. Main St., Monongahela, was placed in Fayette County jail Saturday for allegedly violating a protection-from-abuse order Friday. Charges were filed by Southwest Regional police department with District Judge Richard Kasunic, Star Junction. Rose was placed in jail on $20,000 bond.
Assault charge: David Ford, 29, of 423 Euclid Ave., Canonsburg, will be charged by Canonsburg police with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly grabbed his girlfriend, Jennifer Swearingen, by the throat, took her to the floor and started choking her during a confrontation at their home Saturday. Swearingen, who reported the alleged incident Tuesday, told police she could not talk and had difficulty breathing. She told police she tried to push Ford off of her. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Theft allegation: Breanne N. Schaum, 32, of 703 Henry St., North Belle Vernon, was charged by Charleroi Regional police with theft, trespassing, harassment and disorderly conduct over allegations she entered Luther McIntyre’s residence in the Char House, 251 Ninth St. and stole his cellphone, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the case Wednesday in a summons.
School disturbance: Bryan Harris, 19, of 700 First St., Charleroi, a student at Charleroi Area High School, is charged by Charleroi regional police with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct stemming from allegations he created a physically offensive condition in the school cafeteria about noon Tuesday, court records show. An officer needed to take Harris to the floor in order to handcuff him and take him to the office in the school at 100 Fecsen Drive. Harris is free on $20,000 bond set Tuesday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Theft report: Shawn Bowman, 44, of 430 Liberty Ave., Donora, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with theft and receiving stolen property over accusations he stole two specialized wheelchairs worth $800 while they were stored outside of McNight Medical, 11 McKean Ave., about 9:35 a.m. Sept. 16, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the charges Tuesday in a summons.
Warrant issued: Jonathan A. Sabo, 45, of 1007 Monongahela St., North Belle Vernon, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with failure to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law after he was evicted from a prior address in Charleroi Oct. 7, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued a warrant Wednesday for Sabo’s arrest.
Information accessed: Linda Shaw of Chartiers told township police Monday her personal information was used to open a credit card account. She said she also was getting calls from other businesses about reported attempts to open accounts.
Burglary report: Lisa M. Welch, 37, of 905 St. Nicholas Drive, Donora, is charged by city police with burglary and trespassing over allegations she broke into a residence in the 30 block of Aliquippa Avenue with an unidentified man and fled after being approached by a resident, court records show. Nothing appeared to be stolen from the residence. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso signed a warrant Wednesday for Welch’s arrest.
Drug charges: Aaron J. Bellman, 28, of Mt. Pleasant, and Stephanie M. Dini, 26, of Greensburg are each charged by city police with drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy, court records show. Police accuse the couple of having a rock of crack, 17 stamp bags of heroin and one unidentified pill when an officer approached their vehicle parked at Jackson Drive and Pennsylvania Boulevard about 8 p.m. Friday. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the cases Wednesday in summons.
Knife incident: Myles Kenneth Liston, 40, of 323 Bedsworth St., Pricedale, is charged by township police with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, unlawful restraint, simple assault and harassment, court records show. Police accuse Liston of cutting Christina Pocky’s neck and holding her against her will at his residence about 8 a.m. Monday. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso signed a warrant Tuesday for Liston’s arrest.
Theft allegations: Fred Ray Clark III, 41, who is homeless, is charged by township police with theft and access device use without permission over allegations he found a woman’s lost credit card in a Walmart parking lot, 100 Sara Way, about 8:40 a.m. Sept. 19 and used it to make more than $500 in purchases, court records show. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso signed a warrant Tuesday for Clark’s arrest.
Medication stolen: Kevin Fletcher of 288 Locust Ave. told Washington police Tuesday medication was stolen from a dresser drawer in his bedroom.
Items stolen: Rashell Wilson of Joppa, Md., told Washington police Tuesday a checkbook, bank cards, a 20-inch gold chain, electric razor and cellphone were stolen from her father’s home on Woodland Avenue.
