PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Authorities say a car driver was apparently rushing to a hospital to see his injured father when he ran a red light, resulting in a crash that killed two of his passengers.

Police said preliminary reports indicate that the car ran a red light on Roosevelt Boulevard just before 12:30 a.m. Friday and was struck a sport utility vehicle, then hit a traffic light.

Killed were 17-year-old Maggie Lynn and 19-year-old Osman Zeylnov. The 18-year-old car driver and the 55-year-old woman driving the SUV were treated for minor injuries.

Police said the car driver was apparently rushing to get to Temple Medical Center to see his father, who had just been robbed and assaulted while making a food delivery.
