Man wanted on threat charges found sleeping after SWAT call
ALIQUIPPA (AP) – A man who allegedly threatened his family was found sleeping hours later when SWAT officers burst into his Western Pennsylvania home.
Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier says 28-year-old Richard Jackson was intoxicated and had fallen asleep by the time police sent a robot to spy into his Aliquippa home about noon Sunday.
That was about six hours after police were called and removed Jackson’s family. But police say he refused to surrender and remained in the home.
Once the robot showed police Jackson was sleeping, they entered the home armed with tear gas and arrested him.
Online court records don’t list an attorney for Jackson, who remained jailed Monday. He faces a preliminary hearing Nov. 2 on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and disorderly conduct.
