Police beat Oct. 19
Warrant obtained: State police obtained an arrest warrant for Nicole M. Walters, 28, whose last known address was Third Street, Atlasburg, on charges of theft by deception and receiving stolen property. She is accused of selling a combination drill and drill bit set at a Washington resale shop. The items were stolen from a house on Diane Drive, Canton, Oct. 3.
Trees struck: Courtney Ropele, 37, of Washington, escaped injury when her pickup truck went off Rex Road near Anderson Road, Canton, and hit four trees Saturday afternoon. She told state police she was forced to swerve to avoid another vehicle driving in the middle of the road.
Nurse assaulted: Alexi R. Scott, 29, of 211 Chess St., Monongahela, is charged by township police with aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct over allegations she struck a Monongahela Valley Hospital emergency department nurse in the face about 7 p.m. Oct. 10, court records show. Scott was sent to Washington County jail on a probation detainer. District Judge Mark Wilson signed a warrant Monday for her arrest in the assault case.
Man charged: Michael Alan Amati, 36, of 1288 Country Club Road, Carroll Township, is charged with trespassing about 9 p.m. Oct. 6 at a Giant Eagle near his residence after police allege an officer told him earlier he was no longer allowed in the store as a result of a retail theft incident, court records show. District Judge Mark Wilson issued the case Monday in a summons.
Two injured: Michelle Kabo of Pittsburgh and Julia Lee Hill of Daisytown were injured when their vehicles collided just before 1 p.m. Monday at National Pike and Malden Road, Centerville, police said. Police said Hill was trying to make a left turn. Both drivers were taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment. The investigation into the crash is continuing.
Assault arrest: Erika Williams, 26, of 224 Main St., Fayette City, was arrested Monday by Charleroi Regional police on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct after she allegedly kicked Louis Urcho down a flight of 15 steps during a confrontation at 933 Meadow Ave. The two were reportedly arguing about a hearing, a witness told police. She was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Warrant arrest: Sabrina Santoro, 26, of 805 Lincoln Ave., Charleroi, was picked up Friday on an outstanding warrant at 10th Street and McKean Avenue, Charleroi Regional police said. She was placed in Washington County jail.
Probation warrant: Nicole Hairston, 33, of 409 Conrad Ave., North Charleroi, was taken into custody Saturday on a adult probation warrant at 502 Seventh St. She was placed in Washington County jail on the warrant.
House trailer entered: Gerry Converse of South Park told Chartiers police Sunday a window was broken at a house trailer at 375 Moon Road. The trailer was entered and ransacked.
Driver injured: Joseph Mojica, 70, of Meadow Lands, was injured when his vehicle veered off the 900 block of Western Avenue and crashed, Chartiers police said. He was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment. He told police he was blinded by the headlights of oncoming vehicles.
Drug arrest: Tirik Devon Thomas, 26, of 172 Frederick Terrace, Fredericktown, was arrested Monday by state police on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana, driving with a suspended license, failure to drive at a safe speed and careless driving. Police were on patrol on Route 88 in East Bethlehem when they spotted a construction worker arguing with a driver. The worker told police the driver, identified as Thomas, approached the construction zone at a high rate of speed. Police found the suspected drug in the vehicle. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Fire investigated: The state police fire marshal is looking for information about a fire that destroyed a garage Sunday night on Bridge Avenue, East Bethlehem. The garage is owned by Robert Luzier of Clarksville. Anyone with information is asked to call Trooper James Garlick at 724-223-2093.
Harassment charge: Chad DeJohn, 35, of Eighty Four, will be charged by state police with harassment after he allegedly got into a physical altercation Oct. 13 with Rennae Ott, 35, and Chandler Harvey, 23, both of Ellsworth, at 6 N. Main St., Ellsworth.
Driver charged: John Thomas Cullen, 56, of 8 Iron St., Canonsburg, was charged Tuesday by Houston police with fleeing or attempting to elude police, reckless driving and other traffic violations stemming from an Oct. 15 traffic stop on South Main Street. Police said he also backed into the cruiser, damaging it. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Vehicles entered: Teresa and Shawn Hodges and Joseph Sterling, all of Avella, told state police Thursday their vehicles were entered while parked at 1010 Bethel Ridge Road, Jefferson. Several hundred dollars was taken from a locked vehicle and a wallet containing two debit cards and one credit card was stolen from another locked vehicle. An unlocked vehicle was entered and the contents of the glove compartment dumped.
Faces charges: Gerald M. Comedy, 52, of 190 McAdam Ave., Washington, will be charged by North Strabane police with possession of a controlled substance after he was found with suspected cocaine during a traffic stop early Tuesday on South Central Avenue at Route 519. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Driver injured: Bradley Shurina, 34, of Scottdale, Westmoreland County, was injured Monday morning when his vehicle slid into a vehicle driven by Daniel Lambeth, 24, of Marietta, Ohio, on Interstate 79 north near the Canonsburg exit, North Strabane, state police said. He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
ATV rider injured: Raymond Shrader, 47, of Amity, was injured Sunday when the all-terrain vehicle state police said he was riding at a high rate of speed on Old Post Road, South Franklin, hit a deer and rolled over, state police said. He was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment.
Tanks stolen: Two empty propane tanks were stolen Monday from the back of a CGI Gas Co. truck while it was parked in the lot at 578 W. Chestnut St., Washington police said.
Harassment charge: Rodney Long, 23, of 123 Church St., will be charged by Washington police with harassment after he allegedly slapped Vanessa Checkley, 26, during a confrontation at their home Monday.
Tires slashed: Two Washington boys, ages 14 and 15, were charged by Washington police with criminal mischief after allegedly slashing tires on a vehicle owned by Dave Lupi of Carnegie while it was parked in the 700 block of Addison Street.
