Police beat Oct. 20
Cellphone, DVDs stolen: Nicole Powell of 515 Perry Como St. told Canonsburg police Tuesday her cellphone and two DVDs were stolen from the roof of her vehicle. She told police she left the items there when she went back into her house.
Charged in crash: Tyler Reed Lash, 24, of 129 First St., Marianna, was charged Tuesday by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a crash and traffic violations stemming from a June 6 hit-and-run crash on Interstate 79 southbound near the Houston exit, North Strabane. Police said his blood-alcohol content was almost double the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Disorderly, paraphernalia charges: Troy Lee Riggle, 44, of 6 Pikeview Drive, Richeyville, and Anna M. Chioviti, 45, of 310 Second St., Vestaburg, were charged Tuesday with possession of paraphernalia and disorderly conduct after South Strabane police got a complaint of people using drugs inside a vehicle parked at Northgate Plaza Sept. 21. Riggle also was charged with public drunkenness. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Theft charges: Lauren N. Hockett, 36, of 252 Locust Ave., Washington, was charged Friday by South Strabane police with theft and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds. She is accused of failing to deposit $4,881.92 at the bank while working as a manager at Waffle House, Murtland Avenue, between July 5 and Aug. 16. She also is accused of stealing $3,763.74 in food, including chicken and steaks, police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Retail theft charge: Shawn S. Pusateri, 33, of 8 Munce Road, Washington, was charged Tuesday by South Strabane police with felony retail theft for allegedly stealing items from Kohl’s, Strabane Square, Oct. 11. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Theft charge: Jeffrey Stanley, 43, of 1410 S. Main St. Ext., Washington, was charged Tuesday by South Strabane police with retail theft for allegedly stealing items valued at $436.24 from Walmart, Trinity Point, earlier this month. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
