The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Flash Flood Watch for portions of western Pennsylvania, east central Ohio, western Maryland and northern West Virginia. The watch, which includes Washington and Greene counties, is in effect from 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon through Friday morning.

Expect showers and a few thunderstorms, with 1.5 to 3 inches of rain expected. This could result in flash flooding, damaging wind and the possibility of isolated tornadoes.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
