Muse Elementary School was temporarily locked down during a police pursuit Friday morning.

According to Cecil police Chief Shawn F. Bukovinsky, Lisa J. Eckert, 56, of Canonsburg, failed to pull over when an officer attempted to stop her on Route 980 for an expired registration and no inspection. She allegedly continued to travel south, turning onto Muse-Bishop Road, then Ciaffoni Road, where she lost control and traveled into a field. Bukovinsky said two tires eventually came off and Eckert continued to drive on the rims. She continued through Muse and was eventually stopped near Oak Road and Maple Street, where she was taken into custody.

Bukovinsky said no injuries were reported, and the pursuit was at a safe speed.

The school lockdown was lifted after Eckert was taken into custody.

Charges, including reckless endangerment, driving without a license and fleeing police, will be filed.
