PITTSBURGH (AP) – A western Pennsylvania man will spend 12 to 30 years in prison for fatally shooting a mother of eight – including his one child – during an argument over money for baby supplies.

Twenty-one-year-old Markese Reese pleaded guilty Friday to third-degree murder and two firearms violations in the November 2015 shooting of 28-year-old Marqua Wilson.

Allegheny County prosecutor say the Verona man argued with Wilson, who had obtained a protection-from-abuse order against him in 2013, alleging that he had been physically abusive.

Reese made Facebook posts proclaiming his innocence before eventually surrendering.

Wilson’s mother, Nickolette Douglas, told the judge Friday she’s now raising the youngest five of Wilson’s eight children, who are all 8 or younger and says, “Our lives are upside-down.”

Reese apologized saying he loved Wilson “too much.”
