Waynesburg Chamber to present awards
The Waynesburg Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual membership banquet and presentation of the Distinguished Service Awards Nov. 19 in the Benedum Dining Hall at Waynesburg University.
A new award, the “McCracken Award of Excellence,” also will be presented to a business or organization with an operating presence in Greene County that has demonstrated ambition, profitability, growth, sound business planning, customer satisfaction and management of people.
The organization also will need to have a commitment to social responsibility and exemplary community involvement, and demonstrate a positive social and economic impact on the community and exemplary civic community leadership.
First Federal Savings & Loan of Greene County is the first recipient of the “McCracken Award of Excellence,” and will be honored at the banquet.
Also being honored at the banquet are Gene and Judy Rush, who will receive individual Distinguished Service Awards, which have been awarded annually since 1988 to community members who contribute to the community through civic organizations, leadership or business progress.
The Posthumous Distinguished Service Award will honor David Cumberledge.
