Chartiers man back in jail within 24 hours
A Chartiers Township man was back in Washington County jail less than 24 hours after getting out on bond, arrested Thursday night by township police on charges he violated two protection-from-abuse orders against him.
Michael A. Maloy, 43, of 433 Ross St., is accused of violating an order issued against him by Judge Michael Lucas on behalf of Heather Jenkins. He is accused of calling Jenkins after his release from jail. He also allegedly violated an order against him obtained by his mother, Donna Shriver, from President Judge Katherine B. Emery. He reportedly called his mother twice after getting out of jail, asking for money.
Chartiers police found him walking on a nearby street and took him into custody.
Maloy was arrested last month on charges of simple assault, defiant trespass, criminal mischief and resisting arrest. He is accused of forcing his way into Jenkins’ Liekar Lane home Aug. 21. Jenkins told police that Maloy knocked out the back door of her home, shattering glass all over her. He then reached inside to unlock the door and enter her home, she said.
Maloy reportedly struggled with police as they tried to take him into custody. After his arraignment, he was placed in jail on $10,000 bond. He posted that bond Thursday through a bondsman, according to court records.
He also was arrested July 26 by township police for violating a protection-from-abuse order obtained by his mother. Maloy also is charged with two counts of criminal mischief for allegedly doing $500 in damage to his grandmother’s home and $2,000 in damage to his mother’s home on July 24.
Maloy was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka on the alleged PFA violations and placed in jail on $10,000 bond.
