Honeybee program to be held Thursday in Buffalo Township
There will be a honeybee-keeping program Thursday at the Buffalo Township Building.
Learn about the interesting, extremely valuable and important task of keeping honeybees from Perry Arlia of Washington County Bee Keepers Association. Arlia will discuss the needs of honeybees, display the equipment used to maintain and house them and answer questions about the industrious insects. It is estimated more than 80 percent of the fruits, vegetables and grains humans eat are pollinated by honeybees.
The program is hosted by the Buffalo Creek Watershed Association Thursday at 7 p.m. It will take place in Buffalo Township Building, 400 Buffalo Center Lane, Washington, which is just off the Taylorstown Exit of I-70.
There will be door prizes. The program is suitable for all ages and is free to the public, but a donation of canned goods for Washington County Food Bank is always appreciated. For more information or to reserve a seat, please call 724-484-7537.
