Mine reclamation gets boost
Efforts to clean up an abandoned mine site in West Pike Run Township were aided by an almost $50,000 grant from the state Department of Environmental Protection.
The project requires clearing, grubbing, 14,800 cubic yards of grading, 435 square yards of roadway surfacing and three acres of seeding, according to a release from the office of state Sen. Camera Bartolotta, R-Carroll. Work is scheduled to begin this month and conclude in February.
