Canonsburg man jailed on assault charges
A Canonsburg man was placed in Washington County Jail Thursday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
Matthew Russo, 30, of 208 W. College St., is accused of threatened the woman with a knife and choking her. He allegedly cut her hair with the knife and wouldn’t allow her to leave for several hours.
Russo was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and jailed on $50,000 cash bond. He faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and terroristic threats.
