Man allegedly threatens Waynesburg student
A Bridgeville man is facing harassment and terroristic threat charges following an incident Friday afternoon.
Waynesburg police said they were notified by Waynesburg University Public Safety a student, Zoe Battista, allegedly received threatening text messages from her ex-boyfriend, Kyle Robert Fitzpatrick, 19, of 258 Calvert St.
Police said the messages allegedly were sent under the context Fitzpatrick was coming to Waynesburg to visit Battista after she asked him not to.
In the messages, Fitzpatrick allegedly threatened Battista by telling her he had two shotguns, a semi-automatic rifle and pistol.
“This is all from my bonus from signing with the military so grab your people, they be down in a second,” the text message read, according to the criminal complaint. “I ‘shoot to thrill.’ So, tell your (boyfriend) that I wanna go mano y mano.”
Fitzpatrick was arrested Friday and posted $10,000 bail Saturday. His preliminary hearing before Judge Jesse Cramer is scheduled for 9 a.m. Sept. 23.
