Bowlby Public Library is holding an after hours back-to-school family game night from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday for children ages 6 and older. There will be games, nutritious snack foods and time to relax. Attendees can bring their favorite games to this event. The library’s Teen Advisory Group is also inviting all local teenagers to their after-after hours party from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday. Teens from ages 13 to 18 are invited to the library in Waynesburg for the Blast to the Past party. There is a suggested $2 donation at the door. Call the library at 724-627-9776 to for more information on both events and to register.

State police will be conducting a free child restraint checkup event from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at the Carmichaels-Cumberland Township Volunteer Fire Department located at 500 W. George St., near Carmichaels. Any parents who want to have their child restraint checked for recalls and to learn how to properly secure a child seat are encouraged to participate. Certified child restraint technicians with Pennsylvania State Police will be available to assist.
