ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (AP) — Police say a West Virginia woman has been taken into custody after she put out a cigarette in her boyfriend’s eye.

WSAZ-TV reports that St. Albans police say 39-year-old Cindy Underwood was arrested Monday after officers went to a home for a destruction of property complaint.

There they found Underwood and her boyfriend, who told police that the two had gotten into an argument. The man said Underwood put out a cigarette in his eye during the dispute.

Police say the man had an eye injury and was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown.

Online jail records do not show what Underwood has been charged with. It’s unclear whether she has an attorney.
