Student dies in sleep
Grief counselors will be present in Avella Area schools again Thursday in response to the unexpected death of a student.
Brandon Michael Lowe, 14, of Avella, died Tuesday in his home. According to his obituary, Brandon died in his sleep.
Washington County Coroner Tim Warco did not issue a press release about Lowe’s death and could not be reached for comment.
Brandon was a seventh-grade student who played baseball and basketball for Avella and Brownson House.
Superintendent Cyril Walther said a letter was sent home Tuesday notifying parents and guardians of the death. Grief counselors were present Wednesday.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 6 p.m., the time of the service, Friday in Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home, 18 Campbell St., Avella.
