Police beat Sept. 21
Man jailed: Stewart Battle, 27, of 101 Third St., Monongahela, is charged by city police with retail theft, escape and disorderly conduct over accusations he stole $5 worth of merchandise from a Foodland about 8 p.m. Thursday, court records show. Police accuse Battle of later faking an illness at the city police station and fleeing on foot from an ambulance at Mon Valley Hospital in Carroll Township. Police said Battle was found on an outdoor bench at the hospital and sent to Westmoreland County jail on unrelated warrants.
Warrant signed: Nicholas James Pollet, 28, of Alexandria, Va., is charged by city police with trespassing and receiving stolen property over accusations he stole a shotgun, rifle and other items from a vacant house a 627 Geary St. and stored them at a residence in the 600 block of Marne Avenue, where he was staying with his girlfriend, court records show. District Judge Mark Wilson signed a warrant Monday for Pollet’s arrest.
Man charged: Matthew S. Mouyard, 36, of 38 Mannina Ave., Dunlevy, is charged by city police with illegal sale or transfer of a firearm and unsworn falsification over allegations he provided false information on an application to purchase a gun about 6:25 p.m. April 20 at Valley Arms, 306 E. Main St., court records show. Mouyard is free on $5,000 bond set Monday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Threat alleged: Robert Henry Martin Jr., 28, of 114 Union St., New Eagle, is charged by Monongahela police with making terroristic threats over accusations he threatened to shoot his girlfriend in the head while she was on the phone with Washington County 911 reporting one of her children missing about 1:20 p.m. Sunday, court records show. The child was found in the yard of a nearby house, police said. Martin will receive the charge in a summons from District Judge Mark Wilson.
