Fire damages vacant house in Monongahela

MONONGAHELA – A fire Tuesday night damaged a vacant house set for demolition in Monongahela.

Assistant Fire Chief Aaron Benney said city police were investigating the cause of the fire at the abandoned house at 503 E. Main St. The owner of the building was not immediately known Wednesday.

The interior of the house already had been gutted before the fire broke out about 8 p.m., Benney said.
