PITTSBURGH (AP) — Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a two-vehicle crash sent a sport utility vehicle into the University of Pittsburgh bookstore, injuring three people.

Allegheny County 911 supervisors said the accident happened at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Public Safety spokeswoman said medics transported three patients to UPMC Presbyterian with minor injuries. Toler said the 22-year-old driver fled the scene on foot but eventually returned.

University spokesman Joe Miksch said city police were handling the investigation and none of the people involved appeared to be affiliated with the university.

The extent of damage to university property wasn’t immediately clear.
