CHARLEROI – A Fayette County man was charged Monday with possession of four marijuana plants that were discovered at an Interstate 70 construction site in Fallowfield Township.

State police also charged Damon Edward Vincent, 56, of 71C Woodvale St., Dunbar, with dropping waste on a highway after the plants were found in a Faygo grape soda box by a foreman working at the redesign of the highway’s Route 481 interchange about 11:30 p.m. May 18, court records show.

An envelope containing Vincent’s address also was found in the box, and police later went to talk to him at his office in Charleroi. A can of Faygo grape soda was allegedly sitting on Vincent’s desk when police arrived at his office.

Police said he denied the marijuana plants were his. His vehicle at the time also had a strong odor of marijuana, police allege.

Police on Monday asked the office of District Judge Larry Hopkins to issue a warrant for Vincent’s arrest.
