Two people suffered minor injuries last week in a single-vehicle crash on Route 18 in Morris Township.

Morris Township police Chief Michael Natale said an officer while on patrol spotted a telephone pole sheared in half and laying in the middle Route 18 and a pickup truck with front-end damage in a nearby cow pasture about 1:50 p.m. Friday.

Natale said township Officer Zachary Sams found the driver Nicholas B. Hopkins, 37, and his passenger, Alicia D. McGraw, 39, both of Graysville, with minor injuries and they were taken to WHS-Greene hospital for treatment. Blood was drawn from Hopkins at the hospital to determine whether he should face driving under the influence charges, Natale said.

Natale said Hopkins was driving the truck with a suspended license and did not have permission to drive the vehicle, which was owned by his father. McGraw was wanted on warrants from Greene and Fayette counties, Natale said. She is being held without bond at the Greene County jail.
