Man injured when scooter collides with SUV
A Washington man was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital Friday after he was ejected from his scooter when it collided with a SUV at West Chestnut and North Franklin streets.
The man, whose identity was not released, was conscious when city police and emergency personnel arrived at the scene shortly after 5:30 p.m.
Police said the man was traveling west on West Chestnut Street when his scooter collided with a Jeep Liberty traveling in the opposite direction and attempting to turn left onto Franklin Street.
The man suffered head injuries, police said. He was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the SUV was taken by ambulance to Washington Hospital after she complained of chest pains.
